Hearing impaired ear and Hand

Hearing impairment, am I correct?

Different types of hearing impairment

In everyday life, hearing impairment always means a special situation that you may have to overcome if you are affected. If you feel you have a hearing loss, the first thing you need to know is the degree of hearing loss. In total, it is divided into four types of hearing impairment. There is a loss of hearing due to the slight deafness, but at this level the deafness and hearing loss are relatively low. In everyday life, therefore, you have almost no problems with communication.

With a slight hearing loss you can look for various hearing aid models that support you in everyday life. Such devices can be individually tuned to the hearing impairment. Of course, you can also improve your quality of life with a hearing aid if you have moderate or severe hearing loss.

People with such problems usually have a hearing aid that is optimally adjusted. Otherwise, communication becomes very complicated in everyday life. At the latest when people with a pronounced severe hearing impairment go to a disco or go to a club where a very loud sound is normal, there are problems.

Support by a hearing aid in case of hearing impairment

  • Communication with other people is easier
  • Social isolation is prevented
  • Generally improving hearing
  • More quality of life
  • Bell, telephone, radio, television and the like are more easily understood or heard
  • Sounds that have already been forgotten, such as rattling, sea noise or bird whispering, are again perceived
  • The spatial hearing provides better orientation in space
  • Dangerous sources are observed acoustically, for example in road transport

If you're suffering from hearing impairment, it's good to look for a hearing aid. Otherwise, your brain may forget how comprehensive the hearing spectrum was without hearing loss. Once these sounds have been lost, you can no longer be detected and heard with a hearing aid.

High hearing loss, almost deaf

If you have a very high hearing loss and a near deafness, you will need a hearing aid in any case. If you suffer from a high hearing loss, you will be happy with sounds that you can better perceive with the hearing aid. People who are almost deaf usually read from their lips. Later in an environment without light, however, there is an immense disadvantage. With such hearing impairment, everyday life is not easy to deal with. Obstacles appear to be insurmountable. An example is a telephone call if the opposite is not seen.

Complete deafness and deafness is the most serious type of deafness. Deaf people depend on lip reading. At the same time, sign language is often used for communication.

Reasons and reasons for hearing impairment

There may be different reasons for hearing impairment. Sometimes it is also simply hereditary.

If a parent suffers from a hearing impairment that has existed since birth, the likelihood is relatively high that it will also be passed on to the child. Viral infections can also lead to permanent hearing impairment as a typical disease. Typical examples:

  • Masks
  • Roads

An early birth may also cause hearing impairment. The same applies to injuries caused by a birth defect. A hearing loss may occur if the child receives too little oxygen at birth.

There are also different external influences that can increase hearing impairment in old age. Permanent confrontation with noise is a typical classic example of this. Young people and young people are often permanently silenced with loud music from the MP3 player. This represents a considerable risk.

Adults with severe hearing loss often develop at an advanced age. There is then talk of so-called old age. Ear diseases or accidents also lead to severe hearing loss. Typical ear diseases or diseases are otitis media.

Other serious diseases, such as:

  • Diphtheria
  • Scarlet
  • Headache
  • Mumps.

are also known reasons for reduced hearing performance. If you want to have your hearing checked, you go to your neck, nose, ear doctor or a hearing aid kisser.
